A Electrician should know about safety because Safe Working Habit can save Man, Money and Material. Un safe working habit always end up loss. That why every electrician person should be required safe working habit learnt, remembered and practised. Here a Electrician should be remember the famous proverb, “Electricity is good servant but bad master”.          

Safety Rule :

1. Only qualified persons should do electrical work.


2. Do not work on live circuits.


3. Use wooden or PVC insulated handle screwdriver when working on electrical circuits.


4. When soldering, place the hot soldering iron in their stand.


5. Replace or remove fuses only after switching off the circuit switch.


6. Use extensions cords with lamps guard to protect lamps against breakage and to a void com bastille material coming in contact with hot bulb.


7. Use accessories like sockets, plug, switch and appliances have when they are in good condition and be sure they mark of BIS (ISI). Necessity of using BIS(ISI) marked accessories is explained under standardisation.


8. Stand on rubber mats while working / opening switch panels, control gears etc.


9. Position the ladder , on firm ground.


10. Always use safety belts while working on height or pole.


11. Never place your hands on ant moving parts of rotating machine.


12. Only after identify the procedure of operation, operate any machine or apparatus.


13. Use always earth connection for all electrical appliances along with 3-pin sockets and plugs.


14. While working on dead circuits remove the fuse grips, keep them under safe custody and also display “Men on line board on the switch board.


15. Do not connect earthing to the water pipe lines.


16. Discharge static voltage in HV line \ equipment and capacitors before working on them.

First- Aid

We are that the prime reasons for severity of shock are the magnitude and duration of contact.

1. Age of persons.


2. Body resistance.


3. Not wearing insulating footwear or wearing wet footwear.


4. Weather condition.


5. Mains voltage.

 If current less than 10ma body feel normal shock but current greater than 10ma body several shock may fall down or subconscious or death.

1. When you see someone had shocked. First step is switch of the main supply.do not possibly get victim side by insulating material (rubber, paper, hand glove).

1. Get the victim proper rest position.


2. Check the airway.


3. Call victim by their name. (For response check)


4. Check any injury on victim body.


5. Check any bleeding. (Founded applied pressure and same time later do dressing.)


6. Get to hospital.

Safety Sign
